Don't forget sunscreen and brides ask your makeup artists advice before applying it to your face
Test your spray tan well before your big day. Some colours are too dark or the wrong tone altogether especially against cream and white. Some brands can rub off onto your gown and sticking plasters have been known to peel it off
Remember insect repellent - veils and floaty gowns will always collect bugs so try spraying them (from a distance) before you put them on
Apply your perfume and deodorant before you dress and be sure to let it dry first
Always allow more time than the hair dresser or make-up artist suggests
Don't forget to eat lunch or drink plenty of water
Take tissues, lipstick, spare bobby pins and a bottle of water with you
It's a good idea to have a sewing kit near by when you're getting ready
Packing tape is great for removing lint but also essential for lifting pollen from fabric - dab the tape over the stain rather than wiping it
You can buy caps for your stiletto heels to prevent you sinking into soft ground
Remind the bridal party that their role is to ensure you have the best day possible Best Man means 'the next best man', Bridesmaid means 'the maid of the bride'
A wedding planner is a great help but be aware the relationship you build with your photographer (& suppliers) during the planning process will help to produce a great end product
Choose a photographer whose style reflects your own, rather than trying to sculpt them into your way of thinking. A photographer's style is an intrinsic & organic thing
However if there is a particular shot that is important to you make sure your desire is clearly communicated and use the booking form to get it in writing
Make it known to the photographer and especially the videographer as to who has right of way, especially during the ceremony
Watch out for black marks from car tyres especially when you're having the car shots
Always ask the owners of vintage cars whether you can lean on or place anything like bouquets on their vehicle
Let your witnesses sit for the signing. It's more flattering in photos and avoids revealing angles for the women or bald spots for the guys
It's not a good idea to keep your guests waiting and drinking too long. However the longer you give the photographer during the bridal shots, the more time they have to 'create' rather than just ticking off the shots they know work. It also lets you enjoy your bridal party and absorb the fabulous thing you have just done. 1 to 1.5hrs is recommended
